November 2015 ISSUE 11
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
____________________________________________________
“Barbara Ann Kipfer began keeping a list of her favorite things as a shy teenager. Soon the list became second nature; she found herself making additions while riding the bus, eating breakfast, and even in the middle of the night. Twenty years and a dozen spiral notebooks later, her list was published as a book titled 14,000 Things To Be Happy About.” (Nelson’s Complete book of Stories, Illustrations, and Quotes, by Robert J. Morgan, Nashville, TN, by Thomas Nelson, Inc. 2000, p 737)
Thanksgiving is November 26th. Wouldn’t it be nice if we started a spiral November 1st and wrote at least one thing we are thankful about each day? We could then read our “thankful thoughts” on Thanksgiving Day while lifting our prayers to God of our thankfulness. I’m always thankful, but it would be nice to thank God for the rain, for the sunshine, for the…every day things we sometimes take for granted. Perhaps, while we are thanking God for our food we could go around the table and each person thank Him for something specific in that day.
I implore you to use your creativity to come up with a special and unique way to offer up your thankfulness to God. May we always be thankful people. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV) tells us to “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Today, and every day, I am thankful for you in my life. Just as you are a blessing, may you be blessed!
Grace & Peace,
Rhonda Greenwood ____________________________________________________

October 2015 ISSUE 10
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
____________________________________________________
Last month I talked about us working…well, I guess we’re about to do a lot of that! Harvest Festival is quickly approaching, along with Halloween and our 5th Quarter event. In addition to our “normal” activities, Charge conference is just around the corner. In advance of everything, I want to say THANK YOU! Everyone here is very generous and accommodating, and I personally want to commend you for all you do. The song that goes, “I am the church, you are the church, we are the church together…” really says it all. We are the church together, and I love being part of this church. We are a “presence” in this community and I know that Merkel could not be served by a greater group of people. I am so proud of each and every one of you, and I love each of you dearly. Thank you for stepping up and being the church together!
I carry something in my Bible that says, “If you were accused of being a Christian would there be enough evidence to convict you?” I believe each and every one of you would be convicted. Just as you have been a blessing to me and to others, may God bless you! From Numbers 6:24-26 (NIV), “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Grace & Peace, Rhonda Greenwood ____________________________________________________
